THANKS A MILLION!
Since the beginning of their Project Partnership Scheme in 1997, the
40,000
members of
The Church of Scotland Guild have raised an incredible £1
Million.
Women and men up
and down the country have found novel and creative ways to raise money
to combat Aids, assist asylum seekers, alleviate the plight of the
homeless, as well as working with young people and rebuilding
communities.
Through 12
different projects, The Guild has made a difference.
Vivienne
Macdonald, the Guild's National Convener said 'This million represents
the imagination and commitment which are the hall-marks of the Guild.'
Speaking today,
The Moderator of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland, The
Right Reverend Dr Finlay Macdonald said: - 'I am delighted to hear
that fundraising for the Guild's projects has been so successful. It
is really no surprise to me to learn that individual Guild members are
acutely aware of need where it exists and will work tirelessly to meet
that need locally, nationally and internationally.'
