Any ideas, stunts etc. for publicity purposes would be appreciated.

We would encourage all churches to participate, and welcome walkers, cyclists, seasoned joggers, families and youth groups. Children under ten years should be accompanied by an adult.

Please would you put the enclosed poster up in your church. (Extra ones available) Nearer the time, do ask your minister to include our event in the intimations, and please publicise it in your church magazine.

It's good to talk............

but when your mobile phone is beyond repair or is simply redundant, what can you do with it? Christian Aid Scotland has come to an arrangement with XSTronic, an environmental communications company specialising in the recycling and reclamation of mobile phones.   They will pay between £3 and £5 for each unwanted mobile phone. Over 95% of the materials in the phone is is recycled. For example, a small amount of gold is used for contacts inside the phones, microchips can be removed and re-used in making toys and even the plastic cases can be broken down and recycled.

All you need to do is stick the mobile phone in a special envelope (available from any Christian Aid Office - telephone 01738 643982
or 0131 220 1254).

Why don't you organise a collection in your church, or ask your employers for any mobile phones which they no longer use - or ask if your local school would be interested in publicising this; in the run-up to Christmas there will be a lot of mobile phones being bought, and therefore a lot of redundant ones.

Does your mobile phone
look like this? …….

If so Christian Aid can use it to
raise funds
